Scaffold at a fair tower

Starting situation

The fair tower has a height of approximately 80m and essentially consists of a steel pipe as shaft which is clamped at the foundation and surrounding rings designed to attach some lights and advertisement. Inside the rings there were additional precipitous wirings which will be removed for the final situation. During the erection and to control the prestressing of the permanent vertical ropes between the rings a temporary scaffold up to a height of about 66m was required. Therefor an already existing scaffold with a platform at the height of 28m should be reinforced and used as base for the temporary heightening. Due to the additional wind loads to the temporary scaffold a reinforcement also for the fair tower was needed. So it was necessary to perform a calculation for the complex system of the prestressed fair-tower and the scaffold with additional wiring.

What we did

We designed and calculated the complex system of the scaffold including the tower, made the detailed drawing, the planning and described the complete erection phases with all additional temporary wirings.
