Launching of a roof channel

Shifting erection

Description

The roof channel with the overall length of L=100m was to be launched over an existing industrial hall. The assembly took place between the axles R and T. So the launching of the channel could be done without impairment of the enterprise inside the hall. The anticipating porch was lifted adding a prestressed truss above the channel, thus allowing a forceless sliding upon the next support ahead.

What we did

Statical calculations of the temporary erection conditions and calculating the required prestress forces.

Characteristics

The launching of the channel was done using ropes anchored at the frontlateral end of the existing hall. Distance girders stabilized the stanchions used to vertically support the channel.
